Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a Group Tour and a Private Tour?

For the Group Tour you will be sharing the transport, guides and meals with other passengers – this is the option we recommend for those who like a fixed schedule, pre-ordered meals and enjoy meeting other people. They normally have restricted departure dates.

The Private Tour is a lot more flexible and better suited to travellers who have particular sights and activities not covered in the Group Tours. You will have private transport and a guide throughout your stay. All our Group Tours are available as a Private Tour for an additional fee.

Does the holiday price include entrance fee’s to all the sights?
Yes – all entrance fees are included in the price

Does the tour include all transfers to/from sights/hotels/airports?
Yes – all transfers are included in the price (unless otherwise stated on your itinerary)

Do I need a passport?
Yes, you will require a valid passport with blank pages for a VISA and at least 6 months remaining from your proposed departure date from China. If your passport is within 6 months of expiry please apply for a renewal.

All foreign visitors to China need to obtain a VISA before entering the country.

A deposit of £300 is required from each traveller to secure a booking, the outstanding balance should be paid within 8 weeks of departure.

We can accept payments by cash, cheques, debit cards and credit cards.
Please note a 2% surcharge applies to credit card payments.
Is my money safe?
All holidays and flights show on our website and brochure are ATOL protected. We hold an Air Travel Organisers License granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 9837.
In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking.
For further information, please visit the ATOL website

Will I receive written confirmation of my booking?
Yes, upon receipt of your completed booking form and payment we shall issue you with written confirmation and an ATOL invoice.

Will I be protected in the case of external events like volcano ash or airline strikes?

Acts of nature, warfare and industrial action is not something we can predict or be liable for. If something happens to alter your plans before departure we shall inform you immediately of possible alternatives. If something occurs while you are abroad our local representative should be on hand to assist.

We recommend you have a fully comprehensive travel insurance policy in place and check whether their terms and conditions cover you for such situations.

What airlines do you use?

We use a mixture of European, International and Chinese Airlines, for more info please see here

Is the flight direct?

If you are flying from London, the quickest way is a direct flight.

If you prefer a stop or you live far from London, you can still take a domestic or European transfer which will involve a stop.

I already booked the flight myself, can you arrange a land-only tour?
Certainly, we have many customers who arrange their own flights and then take a Land-Only tour with us. We would ask you to provide details such as the Airline, Flight Number, Arrival and Departure Times and Dates so we can synchronise with the local guide.
How do I find/contact my local guide?
·         Upon your arrival by air in China, the Guide will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall holding up a sign with your name.
·         For the daily tours and transfers,  they will normally assign a time to meet in the lobby of the hotel.
·         They will provide their contact number for you, in-case you need assistance outside the hours of the sight-seeing activities.
·         If you booked a holiday without transfers, your local representative will make contact with you at the hotel and leave their contact details for you.

Will I be given specific information about the pick-up to/from airport/hotel?
Yes – this will be provided on your detailed itinerary which will be supplied closer to the time of departure.
