The Land Between Tour (AM)

The New Territories is an enormously diverse suburban area full of contrasts to the cosmopolitan city centre. Yuen Yuen Institute
 
A colourful temple complex dedicated to the worship of Taoist, Confucian and Buddhist deities. The building bears a passing resemblance to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The upper ground floor houses three Taoist immortals seated in a quiet hall, on the lower level you can watch as worshippers pray and give offerings to incarnations of Taoist saints.
 
Tai Mo Shan
 
Standing at 957m this is Hong Kong's tallest mountain, the views from the top of the "big misty mountain" on clear days are impressive - panoramic views of Hong Kong Island and Tsuen Wan industrial town to the south. Driving down hill, a stop will be made at the old Fanling Walled Village belonging to a big family clan in the New Territories.
 
Luk Keng
 
Positioned opposite the China boundary, just across Hong Kong's Starling Inlet. You can see the border town on China side and a bird sanctuary in Hong Kong waters where Chinese pond herons and night-herons nest.
 
 
Sam Mun Tsai Fishing Zone
This small fishing village whose Chinese name means "place of three gates" is a charming llocation of flaoting homes belonging to the local fishing families. See how the local fisherfolk breed fish in submerged cages.
