Yunnan

Meaning “Beautiful clouds of the South”, Yunnan is the most south west region of China. Bordering Vietnam, Laos and Burma Yunnan has a diverse topographical make-up that ranges from alpine mountains to tropical rainforests. The people are equally varied, home to 25 ethnic minorities making the province China’s most diverse, the extensive culture and heritage is extends a warm welcome to all visitors.

Kunming
The capital of Yunnan, known as the "City of Eternal Spring" it has museums, parks, botanical gardens and temples to enjoy. With a history of 2,400 years the city was also a major trader on the Silk Road. Located about 120km south of the city lies a collection of magnificent limestone pillars, "one of earth's natural wonders" a Stone Forest – one of Yunnan’s highlights.
 
Dali
During the Tang and Song Dynasties, Dali was the capital of the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms and is renowned for being one of the earliest cultural birthplaces in Yunnan. Surrounded by mountains in three directions, a visit here will give you the chance to enjoy picturesque landscapes. Highlights include:-

Lijiang
One of China’s best preserved ancient towns with a history of over 800 years, you will marvel at its willow-lined canals, cobbled streets, hustle and bustle of the markets,  waterways and cafes. In fact, the Old Town was granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 1997.
