Days 1-2 UK - Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing and transfer to the hotel, rest of the day free to relax.
Days 3 Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square. It is the largest public square in the world. Then we will explore the incredible Forbidden City, which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We will also visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven. This ornate structure, made entirely of wood, was built in 1420 and is still used as a hall of prayer for good harvests. During the evening there will be a delicious Peking Duck Dinner.
Days 4 Beijing
This morning we are going to visit the Great Wall at Badaling. After lunch we are going to visit the remarkable Ming Tombs Museum where thirteen emperors were buried. On the way back we will stop at the Olympic Stadium know as the Bird’s Nest for you to take some photos.
Days 5 Beijing - Xian
After we visit The Summer Palace we will take a flight to the former ancient capital of China, Xian. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for two nights' stay. Today we will visit the City Wall.
Days 6 Xian
The Terracotta Warriors, and important archaeological discovery of the 20th century, will be one of the attractions we will be seeing today. This afternoon we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, with a history of almost 2000 years. A traditional Chinese cultural performance, Tang Dynasty Show, with a special dumpling dinner, has been arranged for the night.
Days 7 Xian – Shanghai
We will visit the famous the Shaanxi Historical Museum. Among the 400,000 items on display, there are treasures from many Dynasties. We will stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the amazing Great Mosque and explore the Islamic food markets. After this we will fly to Shanghai.
Days 8 Shanghai
Today we will visit the traditional Chinese Yu Yuan Garden and walk along the famous Bund, the city’s famous riverside boulevard, which is lined with magnificent former colonial buildings which now stand as monuments to Shanghai’s one-time notoriety. In the evening enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River.
Day 9 Shanghai – Suzhou
Today will be a full day excursion to Suzhou which is famous for its elegant gardens. Visit two of the finest oriental gardens: the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Master of the Nets and enjoy a cruise on the ancient Grand Canal.
Days 10 Suzhou – Hangzhou
In the morning visit a local silk mill, then transfer to Hangzhou. Visit the local markets and experience an oriental tea-tasting.
Days 11 Hangzhou
Visit the Ling Yin Temple and the Six Harmonies Pagoda before a relaxing cruise on the tranquil West Lake.
Days 12 Hangzhou – Yellow Mountain
We will take a trip the the Yellow Mountain, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the top ten scenic areas in China.
Days 13 Yellow Mountain
Take the cable car up to the top of the Mountains, enjoying the spectacular views of oddly shaped peaks, rock formations, thousand year old pine trees and mysterious ever changing mist. We will stay overnight stay the top of the Mountain.
Days 14 Yellow Mountain – Shanghai
Watch the sunrise in the early morning, and then continue the sightseeing tour at Yellow Mountain, experiencing the panoramic vistas, which for centuries inspires Chinese painters and poets. After lunch, take the cable car down and visit the old town of Tunxi. Evening flight to Shanghai.
Day 15 Shanghai – UK
Transfer to Shanghai Airport and fly back to the UK.
