Days 1-2 UK - Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing and transfer to the hotel, rest of the day free to relax.
Days 3 Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square. It is the largest public square in the world. then we entry to the incredible Forbidden City which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We also visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven. This ornate structure, made entirely of wood, was built in 1420 and is still used as a hall of prayer for good harvests. During the evening there will be a Peking Duck Dinner.
Days 4 Beijing
This morning we are going to visit the Great Wall at Badaling. After lunch we are going to visit the remarkable Ming Tombs Museum where thirteen emperors were buried. On the way back we will stop at the Olympic Stadium know as the Bird’s Nest for you to take some photos.
Days 5 Beijing - Datong
Visit the Summer Palace before we take a train to Datong.
Days 6 Datong – Wutaishan
Today we will visit Yungang Caves and the 1400 years old Hanging Monastery. We will travel by coach to Wutaishan.
Days 7 Wutaishan – Taiyuan
Explore the magnificent beauty of the ‘Holy Land of Chinese Buddhism’, Wutaishan. Travel to Taiyuan for an overnight stay and visit the Twin Pagoda Temple, the Provincial Museum and the Jinci Temple, which offers a wonderful combination of historical relics and beautiful landscapes.
Days 8 Taiyuan – Pingyao
Drive by coach to Pingyao, a World Heritage listed town. It offer an insight into the architectural styles of Imperial China.
Days 9 Pingyao – Xian
Visit the Ancient City Wall, built in the Zhou Dynasty (827-728 BC), the Rishengchang Financial House Museum and the Zhengguo. We also visit Shuang Lin Temple. Take overnight train to the former ancient capital of China, Xian.
Days 10 Xian
Arrive in Xian in the morning. Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Shaanxi Museum, which is home to thousands of priceless relics. In the evening enjoy a performance of Tang Dynasty Dancing with a special dumpling dinner.
Days 11 Xian
Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century – the Terracotta Warriors, followed by a walk along the Ancient City Wall.
Days 12 Xian – Luoyang
Stroll through the lively Muslim Quarter to visit the Great Mosque and explore the Islamic food markets. Take a train to Luoyang.
Days 13 Luoyang – Zhengzhou
Explore the UNESCO listed Longmen Grottoes and visit the Shaolin Temple located in the Songshan Mountains. The temple is shrouded in legend and mystery. The origin of martial arts is part of the mystique of Shaolin Temple. This is the most famous temple in China, not only because of its long history and its role in Chinese Buddhism, but also because of its martial arts. We will watch the famous Kungfu Show here.
Days 14 Zhengzhou – Shanghai
Visit the Yellow River before take a flight to Shanghai.
Days 15 Shanghai
Today we will visit the classical Chinese Yu Yuan Garden and walk along the famous Bund the city’s famous riverside boulevard, is lined with magnificent former colonial buildings which now stand as monuments to Shanghai’s one-time notoriety. In the evening enjoy a cruise on the panoramic HuangpuRiver.
Day 16 Shanghai – UK
Transfer to Shanghai Airport and fly back to the UK.
