Days 1-2 UK - Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing and transfer to the hotel, rest of the day free to relax.
Days 3 Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square. It is the largest public square in the world. Then we entry to the incredible Forbidden City which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We also visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven. This ornate structure, made entirely of wood, was built in 1420 and is still used as a hall of prayer for good harvests. During the evening there will be a Peking Duck Dinner.
Days 4 Beijing
This morning we are going to visit the Great Wall at Badaling. After Lunch we are going to visit the remarkable Ming Tombs Museum where thirteen emperors were buried. On the way back we will stop at the Olympic Stadium know as the Bird’s Nest for you to take some photos.
Days 5 Beijing - Xian
After we visit The Summer Palace, followed by a flight to the former ancient capital of China, Xian. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for two night' stay. Today we will visit the City Wall.
Days 6 Xian
The Terracotta Warriors, and important archaeological discovery of the 20th century, will be one of the attractions we will be seeing today. This afternoon we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, with a history of almost 2000 years. Traditional Chinese cultural performance Tang Dynasty Show, with a special dumpling dinner, has been arranged for the night.
Days 7 Xian – Wuhan – Yichang
Fly to Wuhan and transfer by coach to board our Yangtze River Cruise vessel for the next four nights.
Days 8 – 10 Yangtze River Cruise
Cruise upstream through the Three Gorges from Yichang to Chongqing. Over the next three days we will have a tour of the Three Gorges Dam and take a trip in small boats on the Shennong Stream. We also enjoy visiting 'Ghost City' of Fengdu with its captivating temples.
Days 11 Chongqing - Shanghai
Arrive Chongqing in the morning. Disembark from our cruise vessel and visit the Panda House at Chongqing Zoo, before flying to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai.
Day 12 Shanghai
Today we will visit Yu Yuan Garden a classic Chinese garden and walk along the famous Bund the city’s famous riverside boulevard, is lined with magnificent former colonial buildings which now stand as monuments to Shanghai’s one-time notoriety. In the evening enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River.
Day 13 Shanghai – Zhouzhuang – Suzhou
We drive to Zhouzhuang to visit this beautiful water town known as the Chinese Venice. After this we will continue drive to Suzhou.
Days 14 Suzhou – Hangzhou
Visit two of the finest oriental gardens: the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Garden of the Master of the Nets, a local silk mill still in operation today and enjoy a cruise on the ancient Grand Canal. Then transfer to Hangzhou by coach.
Days 15 Hangzhou
Visit the local markets and experience an oriental tea-tasting. Visit the Ling Yin Temple and the Six Harmonies Pagoda before a relaxing cruise on the tranquil West Lake.
Days 16 Hangzhou – Shanghai
Transferred back to Shanghai, the rest day on your own to relax or do some shopping.
Day 17 Shanghai – UK
Transfer to Shanghai Airport and fly back to the UK.
